South Florida Master Developer, Global Group International, Inc, President, David Ortiz, Nominated for City Excellence Award

Coral Springs Chamber and Coral Springs Economic Development Council will honor David Ortiz, CEO of South Florida-based master developer, Global Group International, Inc.

CORAL SPRINGS, FL ., May 12, 2005 - South Florida master development company, Global Group International, Inc. (GGI) president and founder, David Ortiz, will be honored at Coral Springs Awards Gala 2005 as an Industry Leader of land development in the City. Around 400 of South Florida 's key business, civic and government leaders are expected to attend the event at Coral Springs Marriott Golf Resort & Convention Center, Thursday, May 12.

Since the first project in 1997, GGI has developed a total of more than 925,000 sq. ft of prime Class A office space with a total value of more than $500 million. As a visionary and leader, Ortiz has his fingerprints on nine significant developments, from class A office space such as Coral Springs Professional Campus, to Weston Medical and Professional Campus, diversifying into retail development with The Shoppes At Heron Lakes, a $25 million, 120,000 sq. ft. shopping center with anchored tenants in Coral Springs . Ortiz's latest projects, Lake Mary Professional Campus, Orlando , and Beacon Square Professional Campus, Boca Raton , and the Professional Center at Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota , Florida , continue the trend for offering office condo ownership, for which GGI has built a strong track record of successful projects at a time when other developers have shied away from office developments.

The INDY Awards have been going on since 1995 through the Chamber and Economic Development Foundation (EDF). Recognition is awarded to businesses that have impacted the city. "Global Group International, Inc. has shown excellence in land development with its commercial projects in Coral Springs ," said Paul Cawley, director of EDF.

Global Group International's philosophy focuses on properties in the path of progress and owned by large institutions or farmers, enabling GGI to purchase for below market value. Ortiz's knowledge and entrepreneurial skill, with more than 17 years experience in real estate, helps determine which path will be successful in transforming an under performing property into a profitable income producing venture. "It doesn't matter if our investors invest $100,000 or one million dollars," said Ortiz. "All investors benefit from our "Bulk Purchasing" strategy.

Ortiz has an impressive network of high net worth, sophisticated real estate investors from Argentina , Peru , Columbia , Venezuela and the U.S. The collective strength of these investors has empowered the company with the highest possible buying power advantage. A graduate of Florida International University with a Major in Finance and Minor in International Business, Ortiz holds the prestigious designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). Out of 650,000 real estate brokers in the U.S. less than 3% hold this certification.

GGI developments are making significant changes to the corporate and economic design of Florida 's cities, where low interest rates and rising leasing rates are fuelling the trend to purchase rather than lease office space. GGI builds horizontal and vertical office space. Elegant landscaped buildings with a village or campus feel, lakeside settings, trickling water fountains, with shaded walkways and courtyards, providing ample and convenient parking, and always in a carefully picked prime and vibrant business locations. "We want to ensure we match the product with the buyer. We build for the market," said Ortiz.

Thanks to Ortiz's vision, big changes are taking place, enhancing economic growth in Florida 's cities, one new stylish corporate address at a time.

Global Group Internationals a full-service real estate and development corporation, was established in 1997 and to date has developed several commercial and retail projects in Florida with a total asset value of more than $500 million, including the Coral Springs Professional Campus, The Weston Medical & Professional Campus, The Shoppes at Heron Lakes, Lake Mary Professional Campus, Orlando, Beacon Square Professional Campus and the Professional Center at Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, Florida.
